Joe Rich – Interview
Joe Rich spends a little time with Adam and answers some questions. Watching him talk about his business is kinda weird for me. I remember Joe as a wide-eyed young kid hanging out at the Standard house and riding every day with him. With Taj and Etnies gone it seems that Joe has reevaluated his business and decided to get a little more serious which I applaud him for. I wish I had learned to be more serious about the bike company a long time ago.
I always felt SBC would someday make some cheaper products or at least complete bikes in Taiwan but I knew that our pride at the time was in being able to watch the bikes being made. I don’t begrudge him, Joe’s right. Moving things to Taiwan will be a better business move but I can’t help thinking it’s a long way from were we all started. Everybody has to grown up right?
