March 27th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in BMX, Crazy, Off The Wall, Skateboarding, Sports

picture-5

Recently created by Archivirus Architecture and Design, the Ramp House is a response to the client’s request for a “skateable habitat”.

According to architect Athanasia Psaraki, the Ramp House is a project which tries to reconsider and redefine the living space. The result of the client’s request is a curved form interior, which “set the whole house as well as the inhabitant’s life, into motion”.

How to Sell Your Old School BMX Bike

February 27th, 2009 | 4 Comments | Posted in BMX, Biking, Crazy, Funny, Off The Wall

max-rad-bike

Sorry but the bidding has ended for what is obviously the greatest BMX bike… ever.

This is a max wicked sick BMX. It’s a Reliance Boomerang and it’s done heaps of maximum extreme stunts. I have mostly done stunts on this bike since forever. Once I did a boom gnarly stunt trick on it and a girl got pregnant just by watching my extremeness to the maxxxx. Some details about sickmax BMX: Comes with everything you see including: TOPS AS SUSPENSION REAR FORKS!! 2 x wheels 1 x seat I will even thrown my sick BMXing name for FREE – Wicked Styx. Has minor surface rust on handlebars and front forks (easily removed). More rust on rear forks (as shown in pics). Tyres hold air but are pretty old. Basically, it’s an old BMX, but it’s radness is still 100% in tact. Tricks I have done on this BMX: Endos – 234. Sick Wheelies – 687. Skids – 143,000. Bunny Hops – 2 (my brother dared me to do them, which I did because I’m Rad to the power of Sick). Flipouts – 28. Basically if you buy this bike you will instantly become a member to every club that was ever invented, worldwide, because you will be awesome. Pick up from Richmond in Melbourne. Throw your hands in the air like you just don’t mind.

Me. One-Foot 360. Blaine, MN 1988

-

Recently I met a guy named Garrick Van Buren who is a software designer, podcaster and old school bmx’er. We got to talking and he asked me to participate in a podcast based on old school BMX. Well a few weeks ago we did it and I going to share it with you.

I tried my best to not come across as a douche-bag but I wanted to make it interesting so if you don’t like then I don’t know what to tell you. Anyways, it’s 40+ minutes long so if you are really bored or feel like punishing yourself listening to me talk for almost an hour then go ahead and have a listen.

“Marry Me” Short Film

January 18th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in BMX, Biking

Directed by Michelle Lehman, last year’s Tropfest Australia winning film, Marry Me, tells a little love story about “a little girl who likes a little boy and a little boy who likes his BMX bike”. The film was inspired by a true story when director, Michelle, at 5 years of age, would chase Jason Mahooney around the school in a pretend wedding dress (her mother’s nightie).

World’s First Wheelchair Back Flip

November 1st, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Crazy, Off The Wall

Yeah, just read the title again slowly.

It really happened, and Aaron Fotheringham has a Guinness World Record to prove it. The 16-year-old, who suffers from spina bifida, managed to succeed in this incredible feat by rolling down a skating ramp, flipping, and landing safely on flat ground, wearing only a helmet (he’s braver than me!).

It wasn’t all red, white and yellow roses however. Aaron Fotheringham was attempting the most consecutive back flips in 45 seconds, and despite his unofficial record of 6, he wasn’t able to replicate his previous record (he only managed a single flip), but still ended up setting a new record.

After the record, Aaron Fotheringham took part in the Vegas AmJam finals in the advanced BMX category… in his wheelchair.
